Steve Miller is President and CEO of the American Coalition for Clean Coal Electricity (ACCCE).  ACCCE believes that the use of coal – America’s must abundant energy resource – is essential to providing affordable, reliable electricity for millions of American consumers and a growing domestic economy.  ACCCE’s members are committed to continued and enhanced leadership by America’s public and private sectors to develop and deploy new, advanced clean coal technologies that protect the environment.

Steve Miller brings a dynamic understanding of how politics and public opinion shape public policy to this post.  A veteran with 30 years of experience in the arenas of politics, government, and social policy, Miller has established a record of supporting public policies that advance environmental improvement, economic prosperity, and energy security.

Miller was named President and CEO of the Center for Energy and Economic Development (CEED) in 1994.   Mr. Miller was also at the forefront of creating the Americans for Balanced Energy Choices (ABEC) campaign, an integrated public education campaign to increase awareness of the crucial role that electricity from coal plays in driving a robust economy and an improved quality of life for millions of Americans.  ACCCE represents a combination of the efforts previously carried out by CEED and ABEC.  Additionally, ACCCE will support federal climate policies that achieve emissions reductions, preserve energy security, and protect consumers for skyrocketing energy costs.  To accomplish this mission, ACCCE will have an annual budget in excess of $45 million.

Previously, Mr. Miller served as the campaign manager for Brereton Jones’ successful campaigns for Governor and Lt. Governor in Kentucky—and served as Lt. Governor Jones’ Executive Officer.

Mr. Miller is a graduate of the University of Kentucky and the UK School of Law.  As an undergraduate, he was initiated into Phi Beta Kappa.  He is a former President of the Kentucky Jaycees and was National Vice President of the U.S. Jaycees.
